Adele

AdeleAdele Mara (April 28, 1923 to May 7 10th, 2010), was an American actor, singer and dancer who appeared in films in the 1940s and 1950s, and television in the 1950s, 1960s and later on. Under the professional name of Adele St. Mara, she won a contract with Columbia Pictures[citation required] and began to work in the studio's "B" features and comedy shorts. Later, she changed her name to Adele Mara. Mara was a receptionist in Three Stooges' film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara and Leslie Brooks played the sisters of Rita Hayworth's character in the Fred Astaire film You Were Never Lovelier. Brooks plays the lead female role in Alias Boston Blackie (1942) as the sister of a wrongly accused and exiled convict. After her Columbia contract was up the actress moved to Republic Pictures where she was a regular in outdoor adventures and westerns. She played a supporting role in Don Siegel's Count the Hours and The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch.
